Animals on our notes
Spot the Big Five on Kenyan money
The story
Wanjiru looks closely at a KES 100 note from Mum’s purse. On the front she sees a leopard!
The big idea
Every Kenyan note has one of the Big Five animals on the front, next to the KICC building in Nairobi: buffalo on 50, leopard on 100, rhino on 200, lion on 500 and elephant on 1,000.
Ask at home
Ask your child to find the animal on a note at home and guess which note it is before checking the number.
The full lesson, with its questions and Kesho Stars, is in the myKesho kids app.
