Terms of use
Terms, October 2026, in plain language. If we change these terms, for example when M‑Pesa or bank links arrive, we’ll tell you in the app and ask you to accept the new version.
These terms cover the myKesho parent app and the myKesho Kids app. By setting up a family, or joining one, you agree to them.
What myKesho is
- myKesho helps children learn to earn, save and spend wisely, with guidance from their parents: pocket money, tasks, savings goals and money lessons.
- myKesho does not hold, move or look after real money yet. There is no card, M‑Pesa or bank account in myKesho. You keep the cash; myKesho keeps a record of each child’s Wallet, Save and Share jars.
- Because it’s a record, it’s only as accurate as what your family puts in. Balances in myKesho are not money you can withdraw from us.
- myKesho is free while it runs without money. We may add, change or remove features, and we’ll tell you in the app before anything that affects your family’s records. If we ever plan to charge, we’ll tell you first and you can choose.
Who can use myKesho
- The person who sets up a family is a parent or legal guardian, 18 or over, with their own email address.
- Children from birth to 17 can be added by their parent or guardian, who agrees to how we use their details (see the privacy notice). Under 6, a child is a savings pot their parent runs. From 6 they get their own username and PIN.
- Up to four parents or guardians can share one family. Each signs in with their own email and password, and can approve asks and change settings.
Keeping it safe
- Keep your password and recovery code private. Nobody from myKesho will ever ask for them.
- You’re responsible for who uses your sign-in. If you think someone else knows your password, change it in Account. Changing it signs out every other device.
- Lessons in the app teach general ideas about money. They aren’t financial advice for your family.
Fair use
Use myKesho for your own family. Don’t try to get into other families’ data, overload the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may pause a family that does, and we’ll tell you why.
Leaving
You can delete your family at any time in Account → Delete our family. You can download your family’s data first. If we ever stop running myKesho, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before and give you time to download your data.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep myKesho running and your data safe, but the app is provided as it is. We aren’t responsible for cash you hold or hand over, or for decisions made using the records in the app. Nothing here takes away rights you have under Kenyan law.
Questions and complaints
