PINs and codes are secret
Why your PIN and SMS codes are only for you
The story
Achieng watches her mum pay at the supermarket. Mum covers the keypad with her hand while she types her PIN.
The big idea
A PIN is a secret number that unlocks money. A code sent by SMS, often called an OTP, is a one-time key. Never share either one.
Ask at home
Ask your child who is allowed to know a PIN, and talk about why the answer is almost nobody.
