Why paying on time matters

Your repayment record, and how CRB works

Level 6: Big money ideas · from age 13 · 3 minutes · 5 Kesho Stars

The story

Otieno’s older brother took a KES 3,000 mobile loan and paid it back two months late. Now a bank won’t lend him money for a motorbike.

The big idea

Lenders share how people repay with a Credit Reference Bureau, or CRB. Pay on time and your record looks good. Pay late and lenders may say no, or charge you more.

Ask at home

Talk with your teen about how a good repayment record could help them later, like getting a loan for a business.

The full lesson, with its questions and Kesho Stars, is in the myKesho kids app.
