Too good to be true
How pyramid schemes work, and who loses
The story
A WhatsApp group promises: “Pay KES 1,000 to join, bring in 2 friends, and earn every time your team grows. Members earn 30% a week!”
The big idea
In a pyramid or Ponzi scheme, early members are paid with money from new members, not from any real business. It only works while new people keep joining.
Ask at home
Ask your teen if they’ve seen “double your money” offers online and talk through how to spot them.
The full lesson, with its questions and Kesho Stars, is in the myKesho kids app.
