Reading prices at the duka
Know what things cost before you pay
The story
Njeri goes to the duka with Dad. There’s bread, milk, mandazi and soda on the shelf. Each one has a price.
The big idea
A price tells you how much money you give to buy something. In Kenya, prices are in shillings, written KES or Ksh.
Ask at home
At the next shop, ask your child to find the price of two things and say which one costs more.
The full lesson, with its questions and Kesho Stars, is in the myKesho kids app.
