Is the bigger pack cheaper?

Use the unit price to compare packs fairly

Level 5: Planning ahead · from age 11 · 3 minutes · 5 Kesho Stars

The story

At the shop, 1 exercise book costs KES 50. A pack of 4 costs KES 180.

The big idea

Unit price = price ÷ number of pieces (or litres, or grams). It lets you compare packs of different sizes fairly.

Ask at home

Next time you shop together, ask your child to compare the unit price of two pack sizes.

The full lesson, with its questions and Kesho Stars, is in the myKesho kids app.
