The code sent by mistake

When a friend asks you to forward a code

Level 4: Staying safe with money · from age 8 · 3 minutes · 3 Kesho Stars

The story

Achieng’s phone gets an SMS with a 6-digit code. Then a WhatsApp message comes from her cousin’s name: “Sorry, I sent my code to you by mistake. Please send it to me quickly!”

The big idea

Codes sent to your phone are made for you only. Nobody, not even a friend, ever needs you to forward one.

Ask at home

Tell your child that no one will ever need a code from their phone, and agree to always check with you first.

The full lesson, with its questions and Kesho Stars, is in the myKesho kids app.
