Add a second parent or guardian
Invite your partner, Shosh or another guardian. Up to four grown-ups, each with their own sign-in.
Steps
- 1
Open Account and scroll to Parents. Tap Add a parent.
- 2
Fill in Their first name, pick what The kids call them, and type Their email.
- 3
Tap Send invite. You’ll see an invite code. In most cases myKesho emails it to them too, and the screen says so.
- 4
Tap Copy the invite message and paste it into WhatsApp or SMS if you want to send it yourself. Then tap Done.
- 5
They open mykesho.com/#parent, tap I was invited to a family, and type the same email, the Invite code and Create a password.
- 6
They tap Continue, type the 6-digit code from their email, tap Join, and save their own recovery code.
Every parent here has the same powers: they can approve tasks and asks, add money and change settings. Each signs in with their own email and password, and picks their own emails.
Managing parents
- Until they join, they show as Invited with the code. Tap the copy button to send the invite again, or Cancel to take it back.
- Once they join, you can tap Remove next to their name. The parent who set up the family shows as Main.
- You can have up to four parents or guardians. Add a parent greys out at four.
The kids see who said yes. When Dad taps it, the kids app says “Dad said yes”.
Questions
They can’t find the invite email.
Ask them to check spam. You can also read the code to them: it’s under Account → Parents, next to their name.
Can they use a different email from the one I typed?
No. They must join with the email you invited. If it was wrong, tap Cancel and invite them again with the right one.
Can grandparents send gifts without joining?
Yes. Share a gift link instead. They don’t need an account. See Share a gift link with family.
