Share a gift link and confirm gifts

Shosh, aunties and uncles use the link to say what they’re sending. You confirm it once the money reaches you.

For parents · Gifts and birthdays

Steps

  1. 1

Open Kids, tap your child’s card and scroll to Gift link. Tap Make Amani’s gift link (it shows your child’s name).

  2. 2

Tap Share on WhatsApp, or Copy and paste it wherever family chats.

  3. 3

A relative opens it, fills in what your child calls them, Your gift and A message (optional), and taps the button to tell you, like Tell Mum. Then they send you the money the usual way.

  4. 4

The gift shows under Gifts on the way on Home and on your child’s page. Tap it once the money is with you.

  5. 5

Check Amount that came in, choose Wallet or Save under Put it in, and tap I got it.

  6. 6

If it never came, tap It didn’t come, clear it.

The relative doesn’t need an account. The link only shows your child’s first name and what they call you. Only parents see a gift until you confirm it. Then your child sees the name and message and can say thank you.

Good to know

  • Gifts are from KES 10 to KES 50,000 each.
  • For a child under 6, gifts go to their savings, and every message is kept for when they’re older.
  • If more or less came than they said, change Amount that came in before you confirm.
  • Up to 8 gifts can wait per child, and 20 for the family. Confirm or clear old ones to make room.
  • Tap Turn it off to stop the link. You can make a new one later.

A week before a birthday, myKesho reminds you. That’s a good time to share the link.

Questions

Does the money go through myKesho?

No. myKesho doesn’t take payments. Family send it to you on M‑Pesa or in cash, and you confirm it.

Someone gave cash in person. Do they need the link?

No. Record it with Add money → A gift on your child’s page.

Can strangers use the link?

Anyone with the link can say a gift is coming, but nothing reaches your child until you confirm it. Share it only with family, and turn it off if it spreads.
