Steps

  1. 1

To download: open Account, go to Security and your data and tap Download our data. A file saves to your phone or computer.

  2. 2

To remove one child: open Kids, tap their card, scroll to the bottom and tap Remove Amani from myKesho (with your child’s name).

  3. 3

Type their first name in the box to confirm, and tap Remove Amani. This can’t be undone.

  4. 4

To delete the whole family: open Account, go to Security and your data and tap Delete our family.

  5. 5

Type your family name in the box to confirm, then Your password, and tap Delete for good. Only the parent who set up the family can do this.

The download is everything myKesho keeps about your family, in one file. Download it before you delete anything if you want a copy.

What removing a child deletes

Their jars, goals, tasks, lessons and stars, and their sign-in stops working. Money they sent to a brother or sister stays on the sibling’s side, so the sibling’s balance doesn’t change.

What deleting the family deletes

Every child, parent, task, goal, lesson and record. Kids and other parents are signed out. We delete the records straight away. Feedback you sent is kept without your name or family.

Removing a child is how you withdraw your consent for their data. You can also email [email protected] about your data.

Questions

Can I get a removed child back?

No. Add them again as a new child. Their old record is gone.

What kind of file is the download?

A JSON file named after your family and the date. It opens in any text editor.

Can the other parent delete the family?

No. Only the parent who set up the family (shown as Main under Parents) can delete it, with their password.
