Payday didn’t happen

Payday runs when someone in your family opens myKesho. Here’s how to check it and fix it.

For parents · Troubleshooting

Steps

  1. 1

Open the parent app. Opening it is often enough: any payday that was due runs straight away.

  2. 2

Check Home for a Payday done note, and Payday next for the next date.

  3. 3

Open your child’s page and look under Transactions for a Payday row with the Wallet, Save and Share amounts.

  4. 4

Check Account → Payday for the right day and time.

  5. 5

Check the child’s Allowance isn’t KES 0, and that a boarding child’s term is set up.

  6. 6

Still nothing, and it’s due? Tap Pay early under Payday next on Home.

myKesho works out payday on its servers when the family’s record is next opened, by you, another parent or one of the kids. If nobody opens the app on Friday, payday happens the next time anyone does, dated to when it was due.

Why a payday can be missing

  • Nobody has opened myKesho since it was due. Open it and it catches up.
  • Away for more than four weeks? Only the last four weeks of paydays catch up. Add the rest with Add money if you want to.
  • You moved payday to a day later in the week. To avoid paying twice, there’s no second payday within six days of the last one.
  • Nothing was due: an allowance of KES 0 and no approved tasks. Boarding kids get their money from Term pocket money each week instead.
  • Under 6: a savings pot has no allowance.

If Home shows Payday couldn’t run, check each child’s pocket money, then tap Pay early. Tell us with Send feedback if it keeps happening.

Questions

Will paying early pay twice?

No. After Pay early, the next payday is the week after.

Do I get told when payday happens?

Yes, a Payday done note on Home. Each child gets a payday note in their app too.
