Set the weekly allowance, payday and jar split
Choose how much each child gets, which day and time payday comes, and how it splits into Wallet, Save and Share.

Open Kids, tap your child’s card and scroll to Jars. Tap Allowance.

Type the weekly amount in the box labelled with your payday, like Every Friday, or tap a quick amount.

Under How payday splits, use the minus and plus buttons on Save and Share. They move 5% at a time, and the Wallet gets the rest.

Tap Save allowance.

To change the day or time, open Account and go to Payday. Tap a day under Day and pick a Time. It saves straight away.
Payday starts on Friday at 06:00. At that time, each child’s allowance, plus money for tasks you approved and any lesson rewards, goes into their jars. It’s a record: you keep the cash and hand it over when they use it.
How the jars work
- Wallet: money to use. In the kids app it’s “My wallet”. They ask before they use it.
- Save: for goals. Kids can move money into Save themselves, but taking it out needs your yes.
- Share: for giving. They pick a cause, and you make the payment.
Task money splits the same way as the allowance. On Home, Payday next shows the date, who gets paid and the total.
Paying early
Going upcountry on Friday? On Home, tap Pay early under Payday next. That week’s payday runs now, and the next one comes the week after. Moving payday to another day never pays twice in the same week.
Save bonus under Account → Rules adds 1%, 2% or 5% of what’s in Save every payday, like interest from you. A good nudge to save.
Questions
When does a new allowance start?
From the next payday. If you raise it, your child gets a note that their allowance went up.
Can I give each child a different payday?
No. Payday is one day and time for the whole family. Each child has their own amount and split.
Can I pay nothing and use only tasks?
Yes. Set the allowance to 0. Approved tasks still pay on payday.
