Reset your child’s PIN

Set a new 4-digit PIN when your child forgets theirs. It also unlocks them after too many wrong tries.

For parents · Kids’ sign-in

Steps

  1. 1

Open Kids and tap your child’s card.

  2. 2

Tap the lock button at the top right of their page, or scroll to Kids app and tap Reset Amani’s PIN (it shows your child’s name).

  3. 3

Check the username shown, then type a New 4-digit PIN.

  4. 4

Tap Set PIN. You’ll see that the PIN is changed.

  5. 5

Tell your child the new PIN, then help them sign in at mykesho.com/#kids.

A new PIN works straight away and clears any lock. Choose it together, somewhere private.

Locked out after wrong PINs

Five wrong PINs in a row lock sign-in for 15 minutes. If it happens again, the lock lasts an hour. You get a note on Home saying your child is locked out. Resetting the PIN unlocks them at once, or they can wait.

PINs that won’t work

Easy PINs are blocked because they’re the first ones a stranger tries: 1234, 4321, 0123, 9876, 2580, 1122, 1212, 6969, and four of the same digit like 1111 or 0000.

Teach them: nobody from myKesho will ever ask for their PIN. If anyone does, they should tell you.

Questions

Can I see my child’s current PIN?

No. PINs aren’t shown to anyone, the myKesho team included. Set a new one instead.

Does resetting the PIN change their money?

No. Only the PIN changes. Their jars, goals and stars stay the same.

My child got a note that their PIN changed and it wasn’t them.

Reset it yourself now, and choose a PIN together that nobody else knows.
