Save your recovery code
A 10-character code that gets you back in if you forget your password. We only show it once.
Steps
- 1
When you sign up or join a family, myKesho shows Save your recovery code. After a reset with your old code, it shows Your new recovery code.
- 2
Tap Copy, or write the code on paper. It’s 10 letters and numbers, shown in two groups of five.
- 3
Keep it somewhere safe that isn’t your phone alone: a notebook at home, or a screenshot saved where you keep important documents.
- 4
Tick I’ve saved my recovery code and tap Continue.
If you forget your password, the recovery code lets you pick a new one, even if you can’t get into your email. We store it scrambled, so nobody at myKesho can read it back or show it to you again.
Using it
On the sign-in screen tap Forgot your password?, then Use my recovery code instead. Type your Email, the Recovery code and a New password, then tap Reset my password. You get Your new recovery code straight away: the old one stops working, so save the new one.
Nobody from myKesho will ever ask for your password or recovery code. If someone does, it isn’t us.
Questions
I lost my recovery code. Can I see it again?
No, it’s shown only once. If you can still get into your email, Email me a link resets your password without it. For a new code, tap Message the myKesho team on the Forgot screen: we check it’s you and give you a new one.
Does each parent get their own code?
Yes. Every parent or guardian has their own password and their own recovery code.
Do I need the spaces?
No. Type it with or without the space in the middle.
