Set tasks and approve them
Give chores a small reward. Your child ticks them off, you approve, and the money lands on payday.
Steps
- 1
Open Kids, tap your child’s card and scroll to Tasks this week. Tap New task.
- 2
Type the Task, or tap one like Make your bed or Sweep the compound.
- 3
Set the Reward. It starts at KES 20.
- 4
Under When, choose Repeats and tap the days (Monday to Friday to start), or Just today. Tap Add task.
- 5
When your child marks it done, it shows on Home under Waiting on you. Tap the approve button with the reward, like Approve, KES 20, or Not yet.
- 6
With 3 or more tasks waiting, you can tap Approve all tasks.
Approved task money is paid on payday and splits into Wallet, Save and Share like the allowance. Their page shows how much is approved so far. Each approved task also earns your child 1 Kesho Star.
Not yet
Not yet sends the task back. Your child gets a note to have another go and mark it done again. Use it when the bed is half made.
Removing a task
Tap the bin next to the task under Tasks this week. It stops from today. Anything already approved still pays.
Start small: two or three tasks, KES 10 to 50 each. Paying for extra jobs and keeping everyday helping unpaid works well for many families.
