Answer your child’s asks
Every time your child wants to use money, take from Save or play a game, it waits for you on Home.
Steps
- 1
Open Home. The badge on the Home tab and the bell at the top show how many things are waiting.
- 2
Scroll to Waiting on you, or tap the bell to jump there.
- 3
For money from their wallet, tap Yes, then give them the cash or buy it together. Or tap Not this time.
- 4
For a game, tap Yes, play or Not now. No money moves.
- 5
When a child wants to send money to a brother or sister, tap Yes to send it or Not this time to give it back to them. The money is held in their wallet until you answer.
- 6
For money from Save, tap Allow it. For extra money they asked you for, tap the add button with the amount, like Add KES 200. For giving from Share, tap Yes, give it.
- 7
For a new goal, tap Approve goal or Talk first.
Your child sees your answer at once, with the name they call you: “Mum said yes!”. A “not this time” is a chance to talk, not just a no.
What happens to the money
- When your child asks to use wallet money, that amount is set aside straight away so it can’t be spent twice. Yes takes it out of their Wallet. Not this time puts it back.
- Allow it on a Save ask moves the money from Save into their Wallet. Money in an active goal can’t be asked for.
- The add button on a money ask, like Add KES 200, adds that amount to their Wallet. You hand over the cash when they use it.
A child can have up to 5 asks waiting at once. If another parent already answered on their phone, you’ll see that the ask was already answered.
Want an email when a child asks? Turn on When a child asks in Account. At most one email every 3 hours.

Do I have to answer every small spend?
For older kids you can set a weekly amount they spend without asking. See Let an older child spend without asking.
Can I record a spend myself without an ask?
Yes, with Use their money on their page.
